We all have Ginga, it just depends how we use it, or what we use it for. Some guys have loads of it when it comes to playing football, others are good poets, some ladies show it when they walk and a few people in the way they dress. 

Ginga, it is skill, it is beauty, it is rhythm, it is movement. It is that which moves your soul. Music. Kizomba. Ginga. Salsa.

The first time I heard or rather seen it was with Robinho and Falcao, two masters of football and futsal respectively. I got the gist of Ginga, it is skill. Outrageous skill.

I asked Carlos Alberto Parreira about it and the old man got excited. He grinned like a young boy, he spoke highly of Robinho, Pato, Teko Modise, their Ginga. And then added, “A lady, when she moves a certain way, she has Ginga.’ He did a shuffle of the hips to demonstrate that kinda Ginga.

You see, Ginga is everything, sex appeal, confidence, movement. It cannot be forced, either you have it or you don’t. But you have it, just depends…

When it comes to Kizomba you can see Paciano, Patrice, Poki, Pacifique, Patrick, Papa and most guys that’s name start with P, have serious Ginga. Just kidding, Edd, Emile and Tumi too, well, there’s a few of them that have it and their names don’t start with a P.

Anyway. Just watch them. Ginga.

Viv, Bonolo, Celo, Simone, Simone and Simone all have a serious case of Ginga.

It cannot be copied. It is theirs. It just is so. Maybe they born with it, maybe it’s Maybelline. LOL. I just had to.

But what about you that doesn’t have that Ginga when it comes to Kizomba or Salsa or even Bachata. Well, good news, I’ve seen quite a few ladies and gents with the proverbial left feet get that Ginga. Eventually.

For some, it happens instantly, while for most it takes a few months. Don’t despair though. If you have a passion for Kizomba, with lots of practice and listening to music you will eventually get it.

If your soul is stirred by Salsa, the same principles apply. Dance, listen, dance some more, and then suddenly, one day, or night preferably, you won’t even realise you have Ginga.
