This quote Less is More – I rarely understood until one night I did not dance to the numbers the DJ played. Those Kizomba tracks did not move me; it was slow, too slow.

And in my experience, you can’t just slow dance with anyone, especially Viola. Also, you can’t groove with just anyone, but this is a topic for another day.
Someone asked me why I was not dancing as she knows when Kizomba starts; I’m there, first on the dance floor. But not this time, I said to her I’m not feeling the music.
Soon after the beat got quicker and I was on the dance floor, my mood lifted, my steps in tune with the beat of Coisas Da Terra, her body in tune with mine.
It happened again and again (and it will happen more), if I did not feel the song, that playlist, the mood, I would just sit and wait until something sprightly made its way from the 808’s.
So finally, yes, I realised that less is more, that I don’t have to dance to every track. Previously, that was me, at every party, with every woman, with every Kizomba song, but now I don’t feel like I’m missing out.
Plus I can watch those who don’t step to the beat, I can assess who next to dance with, not that it’s a credible assessment as some ladies look good but don’t follow accordingly, but this is a topic for another day.
So ladies and gents, Less is More depending on the song, the feeling, her connection, and if you see me sitting at a Kizomba party…
